Description of the Programme The course aims at equipping students with knowledge on the application of principles and practices of Seed Science and Technology in the production of high quality and certified seeds. The programme gives the students a chance for an international career, delivering both theory and practice in plant breeding and seed production. Graduates will be well versed in the science and technology used in the seed industry. Research is carried out in plant selection fields and research laboratories. The course includes not only the science associated with seed production and use but also plant breeding and plant biotechnology. Areas of study include seed production and technology, plant breeding, plant biotechnology, routine and advanced methods of seed testing, genetics and plant breeding, molecular biology, pomological and ornamental nursery production, seed biology, seed diseases and pests, business management in the seed industry, landscape architecture and extension in the seed industry. It also presents the latest trends in Horticulture.
