Description of the Programme

In our increasingly interdependent and dynamic world, international relations and diplomacy has become one of the fastest growing areas of study because of its immense contributions to the causes of international security and peace, global trade and economic development, ecological sustainability, conflict management etc. The Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy prepares persons who wish to work in diplomacy, large international organizations, NGO’s, international trade and global corporations. This course familiarizes learners with the international system and prepares them to play an active role in a globalized world.  The course aims at equipping students with skills that will enable them to effectively start a career in organizations that traverse national boundaries in public service as well as private enterprise within culturally and legally diverse settings. This program is designed to equip students with a rigorous grounding of international economics, business and law, international politics and diplomacy, as well as international cooperation and development with emphasis on both theory and application. The course is also designed to develop persons of high integrity with critical thinking skills, and with excellent communication abilities both written and oral, and who can interact effectively with the international community.
