Description of the Programme

The objective of this programme is to offer education and training in Event and Convention Management and to equip the students with the knowledge and skills that will allow for eventual practice as managers in the events industry. While Kenya is considered one of the leading destinations for meeting, incentive, convention and event (MICE) business in Africa, there are very few graduates in this unique and dynamic field. With the fast-growing demand for event hosting in sports, business, conferences and event tourism, the need for qualified individuals trained in Event & Convention Management is in high demand. Students will obtain the skills required to manage day-to-day operations in planning, organizing and hosting events. Considerable emphasis is placed on giving the student strong technical and technological skills in planning, organizing and hosting events as well as social sciences so as to produce a graduate with strong hands-on skills. You will study Principles of Management;  Event Planning; Customer Care and Public Relations; Foreign language; Procurement and Outsourcing for Events; Principles of Marketing; Food and Beverage Production and Service Operations; Venue and Facility Management; Event and Convention Management Practices; Conventions, Meetings & Exhibitions Management; and Financial Management among other courses.

Minimum Entry Requirements
