Description of the Programme
Entrepreneurs are individuals who identify and exploit new business opportunities. This programme is designed to give students the entrepreneurial skills and confidence to launch and manage new business ventures and grow existing businesses. The programme aims at equipping the students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become a successful entrepreneur by imparting the technical know-how of how to start or jump-start a business. The program focuses on identifying, analyzing and evaluating global and local business opportunities; developing creativity and understanding innovation; creating new independent business ventures or new ventures within existing firms; environmental assessment for new ventures; financial planning; marketing research; sources of capital; developing effective business plans to obtain financing; legal issues related to starting and operating a business; ethical and social responsibilities for entrepreneurs; valuation; family-owned businesses; succession; and opportunities for women and minority entrepreneurs. Students will develop a suite of critical business skills, effective business communication skills, critical thinking skills as well as innovative techniques and approaches that are designed to ensure you succeed as an entrepreneur in a competitive global market.
