The aim of the Bachelor of Economics and Statistics is to provide highly skilled and qualified professional economists and statisticians. It is designed to provide students with a detailed understanding of the analytical techniques, principles and theories in the economics and statistics disciplines as taught in different universities around the world through a judicious mix of units that are core to the disciplines and those drawn from complementary disciplines. This quantitative degree programme enables students to compare, describe and correlate the important economic phenomena of production, consumption, exchange and distribution with the help of Statistics. Accounting, mathematics and statistics are powerful instruments, which the modern economist needs at his/her disposal and of which business is making increased use.
