Description of the Programme
This course prepares you for a successful career in cyber security. The evolution of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) coupled with the exponential growth of the internet has provided a new generation of business opportunities and commerce. This explosion of internet and advancement of technology is continuously challenged by new security loopholes, threats and attacks. In today’s digital world, cyber-attacks are becoming everyday occurrences. With a growth in computer users and networks, the scale and sophistication of cyber crimes has increased, thus creating a high demand for internet and system security experts. Viruses, trojans and hackers are some of the dangers lurking on the Internet. Therefore, students will learn how to confront cyber security challenges and understand the key issues involved. Students will be trained to evaluate the opportunities and threats created by interconnecting computers via the internet. They will also be equipped with strong IT expertise and specialized knowledge to strategize, research, develop and deploy effective security solutions. You will gain knowledge about system security and digital forensics, analytics, and organizational security, and develop an understanding of the modern internet and network technologies in common use today etc. This course is designed also designed to equip a cyber security technician with the competencies required to perform computer repair and maintenance, apply cyber security laws, policies and regulations, perform computer networking, software application security, database security, cyber security system installation, cyber security risk assessment, security assessment and testing and security operation management.

KCSE Mean Grade of C- or any other Equivalent Qualification Determined by KNQA
