Description of the Programme
Diploma in Petroleum Management equips the students with the skills, knowledge and the competence required to work in the petroleum industry which includes the global processes of exploration, extraction, refining, transporting (often by oil tankers and pipelines), and marketing petroleum products. Students will get an in-depth understanding of oil and gas field operations, plant operations, field and plant maintenance and pipeline and facilities construction and maintenance. Some of the courses covered include Petroleum Industry Accounting, Supply Chain and Logistics for Petroleum Industry, Pipeline Operations, Retail and Marketing, etc. The course combines technical aspects of the industry such as drilling, well testing, well completion, surface treatment and storage, and petroleum production to key management principles and practices such as risk analysis and management, project management, quality management and the management of occupational health risk in the oil & gas industry. The learner will also obtain valuable knowledge in petroleum geology and exploration.
