Pursuing Bachelor of Architecture or Bachelor of Architectural Studies is the first step towards becoming a professional and registered architect. This course places a strong emphasis on design and creativity and aims to prepare students for global careers in the exciting field of architectural practice. You will combine classroom studies, fieldwork and practical experience to learn about designing buildings, urban systems, public places, transport nodes and recreation & conservation areas. Students create structures and present their work through drawings, presentations and models. You will learn how to create designs that meet aesthetic, functional and user needs – now and in the future. You will learn architectural design principles; terminologies and technologies; design processes and practices; building construction; environmental design and design theory; the relationship between society and built environments; and the evolution of style. Students will also work on a series of independent and collaborative projects and mold research and design projects to explore current issues that are of interest. Skills in drawing, computer-aided design, model-making and exhibition are developed through a series of design projects.
