Description of the Programme

The Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the basic principles of interior design for executing creative design solutions in a variety of residential and commercial spaces. It will develop the student’s creative, analytical, technical, communication, design and technological skills they need to graduate ready to progress into industry. Competencies achieved in the program include fundamental design; design analysis; space planning and programming; and the design of all interior spaces with an understanding of health, safety and welfare of the public as they relate to all aspects of environmental design. You will also cover topics like business contracts, building construction, writing specifications, costing and tendering among others. You’ll learn through lectures, tutorials, individual and group projects, presentations, research and practical projects.
