LawDescription of the Programme
The Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree programme provides legal education for the practice of law. It provides knowledge of the legal system, the legal principles and cultivates a capacity for legal analysis, communication and research. The programme offers a thorough understanding of the principles, concepts and values of the law, both within Kenya and other jurisdictions. As a student of law, you will master the concepts, procedures and reasoning underpinning the Kenyan legal system and be able to build a strong foundation in legal research, reasoning, writing, interpretation and analysis; learn administrative law and constitutional law; and develop outstanding analytical, rational and critical thinking skills. You will learn how to craft clear and persuasive arguments and be well-grounded in comparative and transnational legal issues. Students are required to complete a mandatory 3 months Judicial Attachment. You will be required to complete the Advocates Training Programme (ATP) at the Kenya School of Law in order to be admitted in the bar.
