Description of the Programme
Logistics and Supply Chain Management (SCM) is similar to Procurement and Supply Chain Management and deals with the management of the entire network of movement of raw materials from the source to the consumer in the form of the final processed product. Have you ever wondered how companies transport products to other places? It is the logistics and supply chain professionals who manage the supply of goods and services from the supplier (point of origin) to the customer (final destination) in the safest, fastest and cheapest way possible. Students will gain an understanding of the techniques required for managing and improving the integration of design, resources, processes and customer requirements. The course includes topics in operations management, business process design, supply chain management, business logistics, production planning and scheduling and quality management among other topics. You will be trained to deal with business problems in the global marketplace and understand the complexities of trade, logistics and supply chain industries. You will be able to understand the complexities of the supply chain by examining the management of information, products, people and other supporting resources by maintaining sustainability. Students will also develop key skills in procurement and global sourcing, business operations management, warehousing, green logistics, freight and distribution, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, supply chain analytics, management of human and physical resources, inventory control, materials management, sustainable logistics and supply chain management, procurement and purchasing strategies, principles and strategies of project management.
