Bachelor of Project Planning and Management is designed for students who want to learn the techniques and tools of planning and managing projects across a range of sectors. The programme introduces students to the principles and practices of project planning and project management. Students will be adequately prepared to plan, lead, manage and generally coordinate projects in various sectors to successful completion. By blending leadership and business principles with project management skills and strategies, this degree will allow students to build the required competencies for success.
Topics covered include The Project Management Life Cycle (defining, planning, executing and delivering); The Project selection and portfolio management; Public-Private Partnership Projects; Project Identification, Formulation And Appraisal; Principles of Project Planning, Design And Implementation; Principles of Project Financing; Procurement And Supply Chain Management In Projects; Project Management Information Systems; The organisational context (strategy, structure, and people); Project Management Tools and Techniques; Scope management (estimation and budgeting); Project Monitoring and Evaluation; Risk Management; and Contemporary Project Management tools, including Microsoft Project for general management and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis; etc. The programme cultivates and builds knowledge of project management skills such as stakeholder analysis, participatory appraisal, participatory planning, project proposal writing, the logical framework (logframe) approach as well as monitoring and evaluation.
