Description of the Programme

Bachelor of Science in Accountancy is designed for students who aspire to positions in corporate finance and accounting or for a career in auditing or tax consultation. Accounting is core to the success of any business organization, from start-ups to multinationals and conglomerates. If there are faults with the control and management of the company’s financial systems, it will fail. Professionals in accounting and finance are responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and enhancing the financial systems of a company. The course provides students with the necessary theories, procedures, skills and a sound knowledge base in financial accounting, management accounting, auditing & taxation, corporate accounting, public sector accounting, accounting in not-for-profit organizations, business law, financial management, etc. The programme will also develop your skills and knowledge in analyzing, reporting and managing financial resources in business organizations and government entities. In addition, you will be equipped with the ability to critically analyze emerging issues in accounting and be motivated by the scholarly and professional accounting research that provides you with insights into issues underlying the accounting numbers, hence fostering your professional and academic competence.
