Engineering TechnologyDescription of the Programme
Aerospace engineering is concerned with the design, production, operation, and support of aircraft and spacecraft. Aerospace engineers conduct research to solve problems and improve processes for the aerospace industry. Students will be equipped with skills to solve even the most complex challenges in design, propulsion, and systems for aircraft and/or supercraft. As an aerospace engineer, may be involved in the creation of a more environmentally-friendly passenger aircraft, or even help build equipment capable of exploring our solar system, and beyond. The programme has a rigorous curriculum that emphasizes fundamentals in the basic sciences, mathematics and the humanities, and integrates classroom and laboratory experiences in the engineering disciplines of aerodynamics and propulsion, structural mechanics, mechanics of materials, flight and orbital mechanics, controls, computation, electromechanical systems, design and technical communication. They will also take courses in complementary topics including computer graphics and instrumentation. The program offers students the chance to learn real-world; on-the-job engineering principles practiced by global companies and government agencies while enabling them to build a professional network.
