Description of the Programme

The Bachelor of Agribusiness equips you with the business knowledge and skills that prepare you for career opportunities in the agribusiness and food industries from the farm level all through to corporations, multinational companies and conglomerates. The programme is designed for students who aspire to be business managers and leaders in the agribusiness sector. In this degree program you will learn the commercial side of agriculture, including growing, processing, trading and financing products. You will develop a high level of knowledge, communication and problem-solving skills to be able to tackle real issues facing agriculture and business within a changing global environment – issues such as crop production, climate change, food security and safety, agricultural sustainability, livestock and horticulture as well as increasing globalization and integration of food and agricultural networks. You will learn about finance, marketing and managing people and technology along the agri-food value chain that connects producers with consumers. You will also study business courses in areas like accounting, economics, research, human resources, marketing and logistics in an agribusiness context. Throughout the program, you will become familiar with organizations in the agribusiness sector through case studies, visits, research project and internship in an agribusiness company.
