The Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics degree course is designed to provide graduates with the depth and breadth of understanding of economics in the context of agricultural production systems. Students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills required to analyze the agricultural economic issues for efficient use of scarce resources in the agriculture sector and its development, consistent with the interest of all stakeholders. The main emphasis of the programme includes agriculture, production, distribution and consumption of food and agricultural goods and services; value chain analysis; rural development; agricultural resource management; farm management; policy and economic analysis; economics; entrepreneurship; marketing economics; agricultural extension; agriculture policy; international trade, practical work and other pressing issues in agriculture. You will be well equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to analyse agricultural systems from an economic point of view and provide advice on management decision-making in this context. Hands-on learning experiences include real-world projects for leading agriculture companies, internships and field trips.
