The Bachelor of Science (Fashion Design and Marketing) degree programme is aimed at providing students with a holistic view of the fashion industry. The programme immerses students in the creative, technical, and business components of fashion design. Students will receive the best training and exposure to effective design methods and techniques and evolve into designers with a definite creative point of view who are positioned to transform their talent into the basis of a creative enterprise. Practical techniques are combined with each individual’s creativity to learn how to work with a number of different materials. Students will develop skills in fashion marketing, draping, textile design, pattern making, drawing and design fundamentals, fashion illustration, knitting, fashion business, garment construction, chemical processing, fashion accessories, fashion business and communication, global supply chain, entrepreneurship management and the development of textile and fashion concepts and products, including their fabrication and presentation. The programme provides hands-on experience with rapidly evolving retail environments, intercultural practices and customs, consumer behavior, apparel and fashion design, computer-aided design, fashion show production and event organization, garment conservation and fiber and fabric testing. Internships are available to enhance the educational experience and ensure strong career opportunities. You will also study fashion management relative to planning, development, sourcing, distribution, and communication of fashion products in the global environment. Students will have the opportunity to assemble a substantial portfolio to promote their entry to a career in fashion design.
