Description of the Programme
The Bachelor of Science in Finance degree programme is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in all areas of finance. The increased influx of foreign investment, the introduction of new investment vehicles and the expansion of regional economies and trading blocs present new opportunities that B.Sc. in Finance graduates will be prepared to exploit. This modern and exciting discipline essentially deals with the management of money and assets in financial and capital markets. The unique quantitative approach in this course makes the programme both challenging and very rewarding. You will be equipped with quantitative skills that will help you deal with investment decisions, valuation and also develop brilliant risk-hedging strategies. The training emphasizes analytic, problem-solving and computer skills which are necessary for the finance and investment industry. You will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to make decisions about cash flow, asset and risk management, capital markets, stock portfolios and international finance among other areas of finance. You will develop the high-level skills required to manage, organise and invest money, learn how to develop financial policies and products, and be able to solve complex financial problems using mathematical models.
