Description of the Programme The Bachelor of Science in Ethnobotany seeks to train a cadre of well-trained personnel that will make greater contributions to the utilization and conservation of plant genetic resources. The programme is multidisciplinary and provides a unique learning environment in which biological and social science subjects and theories are integrated. The overall objective of the programme is to produce highly trained persons who will put ethnobotany on a sound scientific base for sustainable use and management of plant resources for posterity. The programme will enable graduates to work in areas related to the conservation of biological and cultural diversity, work in natural health care businesses and practices and also pursue furtheer studies Ethnobotany, Botany, Anthropology and related fields. Minimum Entry Requirements through KUCCPS Duration of the Programme 4 years equivalent to 8 semesters Institutions offering the programme Career Prospects A degree in Ethnobotany prepares graduates for work in government and non-government organizations focused on resource management, conservation and related areas where human communities and natural environments interact.
