Description of the Programme
This programme is designed to equip students with secretarial, administrative and managerial skills, values and other practical skills required to run an office run smoothly. It targets those interested in office related roles such as secretaries/executive assistants, administrative assistants, office managers and personal assistants. The course has been designed to adequately prepare graduates for job responsibilities such as convening meetings, maintaining statutory record books, organizing the office work and drafting and executing agreements among other roles. They will also learn how to write a variety of documents including letters, business documents and memos. The program also familiarizes students with the use and application of computer programs such as Microsoft Office including spread sheets, emailing, creation of powerpoint presentations and word processing tasks. Also included are lessons in basic keyboarding, use of speech recognition and file management software among others. This programme also provides education and training in business subjects to meet the growing demands of the business sector and the changing trends in modern office management. Some of the courses covered include general computer skills, data entry, public relations, filing systems and report preparation.
