Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts and Film Technology is a stimulating and intellectually engaging course that provides a framework for the close analysis of individual films. You will understand how actors, designers, film-makers, videographers and other performance artists plan and produce their work. You will learn the traditions and techniques that influence the way different artists create performances in theatre, film, video or combinations of performance media. The programme provides the students with the tools to analyze performances in a range of media, cultures and historical periods and to choose the forms of dramatic performance that are most effective for engaging in the social and cultural debates of the world around them, and to consider the challenges they pose for contemporary audiences. You will study Video Camera Operations, Art and Technique of Film Making, Screenwriting, Film Directing, Radio Broadcasting Techniques, Advertising, Entertainment Law and Ethics, Animation, Documentary Video Production and Video Editing among other units. You will develop a detailed understanding of the techniques of film production and the social significance of films. Students will have the opportunity to produce short films in all four years of their study. This programme is hands-on and requires students to conceptualize and produce their own video and film projects. Areas of Specialization include:
