Description of the Programme
This course aims at developing competent record officers with knowledge and skills necessary for efficient and effective management of records/information resources in organizations. The course intends to provide participants with the requisite knowledge to set-up, implement and maintain knowledge, records, archives and information management systems for organizations and support archivists and records management in their professional duties. It further aims at equipping the individual with competencies for managing information creation and collection, managing organization records and archives, managing electronic records, preserving organization archives and records, managing archives and records unit, conducting research in archives and records management, performing archiving management and conducting records disposal. Participants of this programme will learn modules such as Introduction to Archives, Conservation and Preservation, Organizational Communication, E Records, Knowledge Management etc.


Admission Requirements
KCSE Mean Grade of C- (minus)

or

Equivalent qualifications as determined by Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA)

Graduates perform records, archives and information management functions. Common job titles include records supervisors, records officers, records assistants, administration assistants, documentalists, information officers and library assistants among others. There are job opportunities for graduates in both the public and private sector and NGOs.
