Description of the Programme

The Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication degree course is designed to provide students with basic journalistic skills in various mass media, to expose students to recent developments in media issues and media research, and to strengthen the foundations for various technologies involved in mass media like computer applications, respective software and hardware in print, radio, television, internet, etc. The programme provides an in-depth hands-on training in journalism, converging media (TV, radio, web, tablet, phone), digital communication and multimedia storytelling. It has a strong professional focus, with an emphasis on practical learning and studio-based studies in multimedia content production. You will learn to research, produce, analyze, interpret, evaluate and present content effectively through various channels of communication (audio, video, print and digital technologies, including webcasting and podcasting), working both independently and collaboratively. Student will polish their writing, verbal communication and visual skills through the course of study and close mentoring by the lecturers. Analytical and critical thinking skills acquired through in-depth investigation of contemporary social issues will give the students the ability to analyze and appropriately react to any situation that might arise, a critical necessity in the field of communication.
